We recently hosted another technical training session for our dealer network at our Minchinbury branch, Sydney, with 12 dealer representatives attending a session led by Karl Bunzel, our National Technical Support Manager.
The day focused on Rehlko/Kohler KDI engines, with particular attention given to the KDI3404TCR-SCR engine series used in Wacker-Neuson ST50 machines. The session combined technical information with practical guidance to help our dealers better understand the systems, tools and resources available when servicing and diagnosing these engines.
Rehlko KDI Engine and Diagnostic Training
A key part of the training was KIRA (Kohler Integrated Remote Assistance), a diagnostic system that operates with a laptop computer to assist with engine diagnostics and troubleshooting.
The training also incorporated KDI Service Certification course material for SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) supplied by Rehlko Italy. This covered important information relating to SCR systems and exhaust emissions control, helping attendees build their understanding of the technology used across modern KDI engines.
With engine systems becoming increasingly sophisticated, having the right diagnostic knowledge and tools is essential when identifying and resolving technical issues.
Knowledge That Goes Beyond the Training Day
One of the key takeaways from the session was simple: you don't need to remember everything, but you do need to know where to find the right information when you need it.
The training provided our dealers with technical resources they can refer back to when working with KDI engines in the field. This gives them greater confidence when approaching servicing, diagnostics and troubleshooting, while ensuring they can access the appropriate information when a specific technical question arises.
